Itinerary
Pick-up from Islamabad and depart for Nathiagali, driving along Kashmir Road (approx. 2 hr 43 min / 86.9 km).
Upon arrival, begin your walk along the Pipeline Track in Ayubia National Park, a scenic trail that spans 3.5 km from Dunga Gali to Ayubia at an altitude of 8,200 feet. The trek takes around 40–50 minutes and offers mesmerizing views of lush forests, foggy hills, and diverse birdlife, including Yellow Beaked Magpies, Red Blood and Yellow Body Finches, and Crested Grey Finches. Along the way, explore historical inscriptions and the Moto Tunnel, a 130-year-old British-era passage built in 1891, showcasing colonial engineering amid the serene landscape.
Pause for a short rest at the mid-point of the pipeline track, capturing photos and soaking in the natural surroundings. Continue to Dunga Gali, a charming hill station with historical significance as a former British sanatorium.
From Dunga Gali, start the trek to Mushkpuri Top, the second-highest peak of the Galiyat region. This trek takes approximately 2–3 hours round trip, depending on your pace, and winds through thick pine forests, vibrant flower-filled trails, and offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.
